I know after having a baby it can be so hard to even think about trying to get baby’s pictures done with a photographer within the first few weeks. It’s hard! I know how exhausting having a newborn can be and a week in with no sleep it can become overwhelming! Plus if you have an extra fussy baby or you are a first time mom or you have little ones plus a newborn, it’s so hard! To think you have waited for this day 9 months+ and now you are so beyond exhausted to even enjoy some of those early moments, I get it. And not to mention the hormones and trying to nurse a baby every hour sometimes, it’s hard!
That’s where I can help.
I want to ease that stress for you for a few hours. I want you to be able to relax and really enjoy the time with your baby while I create beautiful images of your beautiful one at this stage. I want to hear your story about your delivery. I want to know how you came up with baby’s name. This time can be refreshening and restful and a time to reflect. I have a nice cozy couch and a Keurig, also snacks and beverages to keep you comfortable during the session.
The first few weeks after birth, baby changes so quickly! There were somedays with my babies when I would think they already changed so much from day to day. I always recommend baby is between 5-14 days new for these sessions. I promise, you want to remember all of those little details, the flakey skin, the hair on the ears and shoulders, their little feet and curled up hands, and how small they actually are in your and dad’s arms <3
My newborn sessions take place in my cute studio in Downtown New Braunfels. I supply everything for these sessions. The studio is packed with different colored fabrics, wraps, newborn outfits, props, headbands/ tiebacks, and newborn beanies. Whether you have a boy or a girl I have you covered. You don’t have to worry about bringing in anything extra unless there is something special you’d like me to incorporate, and that I am always willing.
I schedule these sessions for 3 hours. Some baby’s won’t need all of that time, but I like to have it just in case we need it. Every baby is so different. I want it to be stress free so I schedule plenty of time to get you those poses and looks that you see in my work. And even if we go over that time, don’t worry, it’s all good.
Safety is a biggie for me. I brought on an assistant now, so there is always hands on baby. Like I mentioned before, baby’s are unpredictable. They can startle at any moment so having an assistant on hand gives me more peace of mind. I have done hands on workshops and I know how to swaddle a baby without blocking an airway and I know how to properly pose newborns. I hope when you are looking for a newborn photographer you look at the images and ask yourself if it looks safe. I’ve seen a lot that just make me cringe. The last thing I want is have you stressed over your precious newborn. I will only pose the way baby is comfortable. Some baby’s will fold into any pose and some won’t and that’s ok. I have plenty of training and knowledge to still give you a full gallery of beautiful images even if baby isn’t going into some poses. Also when posing baby with a sibling I will only do safe poses depending on how old the sibling(s) are.
I want to be your newborn photographer. I want to build a relationship with you. I want you to truly enjoy this experience and I want you to be able to look back and be so thankful that you invested in this milestone. By 3 months they will be a totally different baby, so freeze those precious moments with your babes. I promise, you won’t regret it. And please reach out if you have any questions at all about these sessions. I am more then happy to explain anything and everything to you.
